Dasein Fine Art department invited Singapore's top veteran painter Mr Siew Hock Meng to conduct an artist sharing, titled, "Painting: A Visual Language of Self-Expression" at the college, part of Dasein's Edu-Lab series where professional artists are invited to inspire and mentor the students apart from their usual creative learning from time to time.
Known for his portraiture, Siew also offers an insight into his talent in painting a variety of subjects such as human figures, landscapes and the culture and life of peoples in the region through the setup of a digital exhibition of his works at the college. He expresses his passion for these subjects in his rich and eloquent pictorial language, which is highly nuanced in colour and texture. Despite his low profile and infrequent exposure, Siew’s work is highly regarded in the art circle and is much sought after in the region.
